vinyl heaven

Posted bystereomofoon 9/29/2009

This is hands down my favorite record store in the world!! Their selection is incredible-both used and new. It's got a super local feel and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I can never walk out of this place with less than a hundred dollars worth of vinyl. I'm happy to support such an awesome business! Thanks guys. -Loyal patron

Jam packed with goodness

This place is relatively small, (compaired to the other independant music stores in Denver) but it is completely crammed wall to wall with music. The staff range from punkish and hipster to "okay, I'm sorta scared of you" but they're happy to hunt down that album you totally require and would actually feel guilty downloading. On the vynal side, I have always been thrilled with both the new and used selection. I found a coloured vynal of AFI's Answer That And Stay Fashionable brand new limmited to 300 pressings for a mere $12. Total win.

ok vinyl selection

I've been shopping for years at this place, and have found a lot of "rare" vinyl record albums. Sometimes they don't have enough in stock. Some of the employees are "scarey" to ask for help, other than that it is an ok place to visit.

cool store.

I was actually surprised to come across this litttle gem in the neighborhood....The other record stores around here suck. But Wax Trax had some really rare stuff that I've been trying to find for years! And the staff was actually nice, not like some "other" record stores...I heard that its been around for like 26 years or something...Doesn't that make it a landmark or something? I'll definitely be back!

Such nice, helpful people!

I don't go to many music stores, but I was looking for a specific song for my wedding anniversary, and I had no idea who it was by or where to find it. My daughter recommended I try Wax Trax. When I first arrived, I was a little intimidated, but the woman I talked to behind the counter made me feel welcome immediately. She took the time to find all the artists who had done the song (which were quite a few!), and let me listen to the different versions. She also had some wonderful recomendations for other music to play from that era. I would never have gotten this kind of attention at Best Buy or Walmart! Those chains didn't even know what song I was talking about. This is a wonderful store, not just for young people!
