Great quality and prices

They (who are they?) say that a cook is only as good as the ingredients she uses. I agree. And I just can't find anything exotic in aisle 347 of the mega mart, so instead I buy my spices and herbs and spiced wine mix here. Walking into Savory is like an exotic massage for my olfactory senses. I never knew until my first visit here that regular cinnamon isn't cinnamon at all, but a cheaper rendition of one fabulous tree bark! I also discovered peppermint extract, which makes mojitos SO much easier than ripping apart expensive mint leaves! Easier to drink too, and doesn't leave mint leaves dangling from your teeth. Go - discover - smell. Oh, did I mention they're cheaper too? Yup. You can buy the stuff in baggies and refill containers.

Thank goodness they have online service

I don't live in Denver anymore and one of things I miss most is this great store. Great service, an incredible array of spices and tools, and it just smells GREAT. Now that BBQ season is in full swing, I have made more than one on-line visit to add to my spice collection. They offer discounts for personal chefs too!

Savory Spice Shop

Savory Spicy Shop truly is the best spice shop I've seen. I first found it by following my nose half way down the block to the sweet scents of anise and cardamon. Their located by the REI Flagship store down on the Platte. What's best is that you can buy smaller amounts of spices allowing you to try out any thing you want--use a different type of salt every month! Check out their website: http://www.savoryspiceshop.com/

Like stepping back in time!

The smells alone will entice you to enter this charming shop. Once you do, you will find floor-to ceiling shelves stocked with every spice imaginable (and then some!) along with a friendly and knowledgeable sales staff. Buy a little or a lot--you don't have to buy a whole tub of something just for one recipe. Everything is measured and packaged while you wait.Even if you don't cook yourself, it's a great place to find unique gifts for those who do! They also have periodic tastings--check out their web site for scheduling.
