Decent Food, Hostile Service

Posted bywhatmeworry7on 9/2/2008

I will admit, the food is decent. The hummus is creamy and the schwarma sandwich was on par. Our dining experience was however ruined by the exceptionally hostile service. Four of us came into the restaurant during dinner hours and found no one to seat us. After sitting down and waiting for ten minutes or so I had to retrieve our own menus from the counter. The rowdy party having a good time at the hooka bar next door turned out to contain our waitress and cook. As we were about to leave without service, the waitress reluctantly left the hooka bar to take our orders (of note, drinks did not arrive until well after the food came). After some more arguing with the cook the waitress cajoled him to put down the hooka and go into the kitchen to make our food. I just hope that the young man washed his hands at least that morning, since it did not appear that he did so before preparing our food. I am proud to say that no one got ill later that day. As I mentioned above, the food was satisfactory. But the service was so poor it can only be called hostile. I think I will find another middle eastern establishment that will actually do something to earn my hard-earned money.

Average food, not so good service

I have been to Pita Jungle only once and I think once was enough. I had a gyros sandwich which was fairly small portion and had to eat something else to fill me up. The taste was avarage. Their service was not so great either. The only good thing is that they have good lemonade.

Go somewhere else unless you are eating for FREE

The service was absolutely the worst I've experienced in the past two years. Our table was juggled between two waiters with attitude, when our food was brought, 5 minutes later another waiter came, removed it from the table and said that it was "wrong," and then brought it back to us saying, that they made a mistake. Re-fills were never given. The food was average for this cuisine...the hummus better than what you'd get in a grocery store, but not as good as Jerusalems....I wouldn't pay money to return here.

A must try!!!

If you have never experience the Mediterranean food you must try Pita Jungle a very friendly restaurant with excellent food and service. The ambience is very quiet and peaceful the food is delicious, I promise you will not regret going there and since you there make sure to stop by the hookah cafe it's awesome.
