Pets On Broadway has an open, inviting feel that helps patients feel at ease. Our waiting room is surrounded by four exam rooms and a retail store that offers everything from dog and cat toys to premium and prescription pet foods. We've used bright colors and pet-friendly seating to make your visit relaxed and easy. Our kennel and grooming areas are clean and well-equipped and our surgical area is state-of-the-art.
Of course our greatest feature is our staff. They genuinely care about animals- it's their passion. They demonstrate that care at every level of service, from our receptionist Claudia who greets you and your pet with the affection of an old friend, to our medical technicians, Dinna and Bev, who provide for your pet in their most critical moments; from Lou's twenty years experience grooming, to our excellent kennel staff - talking to the animals to make them feel welcome. Whether your pet comes in for an exam, medical procedure, acupuncture, massage therapy, Chinese herbs, grooming, or boarding, our experienced, qualified staff is here to make the visit as pleasant as possible.
Our philosophy is simple: we believe in treating every animal that comes into Pets On Broadway as if they were our own. We give your pet the chance to survive and thrive by pushing our medical expertise to its limits - in dentistry, dermatology, cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and surgery.
We take great pride in what we do - we can't imagine our lives without animals!

For almost 10 years Pets on Broadway has offered very generous discounts and the best medical care to the homeless dogs that have come into our rescue group. We know that the caring staff, Dr. Griffin and Dr. Scolnick have gone above and beyond to help the seriously ill dogs we have had come into rescue. Because of their generosity we have been able to help many dogs that otherwise would have been euthanized in animal shelters. We cannot say enough good things about them, their excellent standards of care, and their support of homeless animals in our community.

If you are looking for a vet who still has heart and is a great surgeon...I have found this to be Dr. Mac Griffin. He came to my house on a Sunday because I had to have my 12 yr. old dog euthanized. Being able to do this in the comfort of our home and having my kids there meant so much. Dr. Griffin has been my Vet for almost 13 years and I would follow him anywhere, as would many other people I know. His partner in the business, Dr. Sheryl Scolnick is NOT warm and fuzzy at all and it is too bad that Dr. Mac has to be categorized in the same star rating as her. Dr. Griffin is a professional in every sense of the word and seems to love what he does and it shows! Another Vet there is Dr. Jamie Ackers whom I have seen on occasion when Dr. Griffin was not available. I found him also to be very caring and informative. I believe that Dr. Griffin is the only one that does critical care surgery there and he is one of the best. Dr. Scolnick is a Dermatologist and only deals with skin conditions and simple stuff. Both of my dogs have had to have very involved surgeries.... my little terrier was hit by a car and was near death but somehow Dr. Mac saved her and I was told by the receptionist that he even stayed the night in the hospital to monitor her condition. My other dog, a Newfoundland, had to have an ACL surgery done which was very involved. The aftercare and rehabilitation that Dr. Mac helped us with at home and at the clinic was above and beyond...we are so thankful to have peace of mind knowing that Dr. Griffin is always available ....he even gives out his cell phone number !!

I so TOTALLY disagree with the prior assessments of Pets on Broadway. I took my beloved cat, 'Joshua, there for a few years while his kidneys were slowly deteriorating. Dr. Scolnick explained what was happening, and how subcutaneous fluids could enable Joshua to live a better life. He also received PRN meds for arthritis when his legs would get stiff. Each time I called about a concern, getting another bag of fluid -- anything -- I was greeted and treated with concern, compassion and yes, love. The staff at Pets on Broadway always cared for Joshua in the manner that I did. I even put a little Santa hat on him one Christmas and gave Dr. Scolnick a picture in a frame. He now is proudly memorialized, along with many other pets who have passed on, on a shelf in the lobby reserved for pets who have died. The day Joshua died, the staff couldn't have been MORE caring. He had been in pain and both of us got no sleep the night before. Because the staff had gotten to know Joshua so well, they were even crying -- everyone was. I was taken into their special room, and Dr. Aiken asked me if I wanted to have Joshua get a shot of morphine as he was pretty agitated by the pain. It calmed him within a minute, and I was able to hold my sweet boy for a half an hour to say 'Goodbye'. How many veterinarians would have that depth of compassion? I feel that they are few and far between. Before Joshua received his final shot, one of the vet techs came in and did a paw imprint that I have and cherish. I didn't ask her to do that. Joshua's journey to the Rainbow Bridge couldn't have been more loving. Dr. Scolnick also gave me a copy of the much-loved prose, 'Rainbow Bridge'. Again, I didn't ask for this. She gave it from the kindness of her heart. **************************************************************************** I now have a 14 yo female cat, Angel, who has also always received excellent care at Pets on Broadway. Purrcy, my polydactyl orange tabby, joined our 'family' shortly after Joshua's passing. When I went to visit a friend in Texas the summer before last, Angel and Purrcy enjoyed a little cabin of sorts where they could pass through the middle and visit each other. I know that staff also kept a log of how they were doing, eating, pooping/peeing, and socializing. I NEVER worried, as I knew that they were in excellent hands. ***************************************************************************** I have one last story which is a testament to how I feel about Dr. Scolnick -- I feel she is always fair and honest when it comes to my pets and another pet I brought to her. This cat had been attacked by a pit bull and was unable to walk the next morning. I told the owner about Pets on Broadway. Luckily, the cat's leg was just swollen and he received medication to clear it. Dr. Scolnick told the owner that she did not recommend x-rays and thought the medication would get this sweet cat good as new in a few days. It touched my heart that Dr. Scolnick even gave this kitty a kiss on the nose before I took him back home. So, I certainly have a much different opinion about Pets on Broadway. We are all entitled to each of ours but me, I'm sticking with Pets on Broadway. They love my pets and have always provided the best care. I hope that this post will extinguish the one-star rating that this animal hospital has so unfairly received.

First let me say that I believe Dr. Griffin is a fine vet, but if you ever go to Pets on Broadway beware of Dr. Scolnick! I took my dog Annie to Pets on Broadway for a few years. I always had this feeling that Dr. Scolnick was trying to get me to agree to an expensive procedure every time I saw her. I always declined when I thought it was over the top. Then one day my aging dog began showing signs of liver failure. (Enzymes high, stool like black tar, etc...) Dr Scolnick's first response was, "Annie may have liver cancer. We will need to do a $450 ultrasound on her liver to see what is going on" Oh I must admit, that scared the bejeezes out of me, but I am not an idiot. I know that there are other things that can cause liver failure that are less expensive to diagnose. The doctor did not even look in her mouth. I told her I wanted to wait a few days to see if it cleared up. The Dr. did recommend a high protein/pumpkin diet that kept her movements under control - thank god! The problem did not clear up, but I began to notice that Annie's mouth was over sensitive too. She was eating slower, and when I touched the side of her face she ran away and sulked for 20 minutes. I took her back to the vet and told them they needed to look at her mouth because she appeared to have an abscessed tooth. Her infection was so bad that the doctor could see it when she opened her mouth. Later I learned that the most common cause of liver failure in dogs is an abscessed tooth! So, I have to agree with John L, but only in regards to Dr. Scolnick. I still think Dr. Griffin is a fine doctor.

I would avoid at all costs using Pets on Broadway! After getting a funny feeling after the very first time we used them we continued to go back because it was close to where we live. The lady vet here was more concerned with her next patient then with her current one everytime we were there. The last straw for us was our last visit. They were uncaring and unsympathetic to our pup while we were trying to figure out what was wrong with her, they overcharged us, then the next day when we called back about our test results they basically said we were "caring too much" about the outcome of the tests and transfered us to a new vet... . we couldn't be happier with our new vet, he never thinks we're worrying too much!
