Not worth it!

There is no receptionist at the spa you check yourself in. The sheets smelled dingy like they were kept in a old closet. No one was downstairs to let me in had to buzz up. If I didnt have a gc I would have never gone, its 85 for just a basic swedish and honestly there are plenty of other spas in denver that do just as good of a massage for way way less... They have to be out of their minds if they think they are gonna stay busy at the prices set. Just like most spas who dont get it im sure they will follow the rest of the overpriced spas and go under.

Expensive gym/Terrible Customer Service/Shady billing

I joined the Matrix Fitness Spa in Jan 2009 and I was excited to work out there. I then got very sick and was unable to work out for almost 4 months. I was told during the sales pitch that they are willing to freeze accounts due to illness. I came to them and asked them to freeze my account for ongoing health issues and asked for a refund for the months that I was very ill. I provided the requested documentation. After getting the run-around for weeks, I encountered a barrage of 'policies' that are nowhere to be found in the contract and which I have yet to see in writing. I would also get read receipts for my e-mails and then be told that my e-mails were not received?! They did finally refund 1.5 months after I formally complained and threatened to take legal action. I also just found out that they charged me again for the month of July after I was told that my account was frozen. So now I have to deal with them on this issue. This gym is expensive - $99/ month for basic membership. I was told that such was justified due to the superior customer service and individual attention....are you kidding me!!!!!! Only use this gym if you can afford to pay ridiculous fees indefinitely, and if you don't value common sense and customer service.

So far, so good

I have belonged to a number of gyms- both in Denver and elsewhere in the country. I wish that there was a place where you could sign up just for classes, because I don't care about anything else, really. Anyway, I joined Matrix recently and I have to say that I enjoy the genuinely friendly staff. The class studio is really small, so I don't know how they are going to accomodate people as their membership grows, but the workout provided is top notch. It would be great if they added some more classes. BodyPump, BodyVive, things of that nature, and also provided them on weekends beyond 9 a.m. But to be fair, no other gym in Denver offers classes as late as the Matrix offers them and I appreciate it for that very reason. I have the impression that Matrix has recently changed hands and I hope the new management continues to make improvements. For the moment, I enjoy the personal attention and the quality workout.

Love this gym

I am a gym-phobe and have tried everything from the Y and rec centers to Ballys and 24 Hr Fitness and have never felt comfortable at them. I love Matrix and feel comfortable there, though. It's small but I never have to wait for a machine; it seems to be steadily busy no matter what time I'm there. I love that I can park in the garage for free. I'm not sure what the previous poster was talking about -- the door to Matrix is immediately next to the parking spots and I have never walked in to find no one at the front desk (on the contrary, there's usually someone checking you in, someone folding towels, someone else just hanging out). Everyone there keeps to themselves (read: not a meat market) but is really friendly and the staff are just awesome. The facility is really clean. The showers are clean and well-stocked, the towels smell good, the locker room is always spotless, the sauna is clean. It's just a really comfortable place, they have good deals on things, the people are nice, and the lcd tvs make that long stairmaster workout feel shorter!

BEST FITNESS CLUB IN DENVER

I liked the gym at first, and they are glad to take your 80 dollars per month. In all fairness if you live close it is convenient but for the lack of customer service the zero accountability. and The constant change in staff. i will go to Colorado Athletic Club, Denver Athletic club, Forza, Pura Vida Even bally's or 24 hour fitness if i dont have to be herassed by the staff or try and find parking in the lots during peak times. That club is way too small to have so many people in it. Thanks to Aaron garcia any joe can come in and pay zero to get started and $65- $79 a month and i have been here almost 2 years and i pay alot more ( which is ok) but here is a tip: People who pay top dollar for a Premier fitness club. Appreciate good service and ignoreing our requets and not taking care of you loyal patrons. You will drive your business to the ground. I would rather go to the YMCA (4 blocks away) at least when i dont get service and it is way overpacked it is ok because they have more space equipment, a pool and it is only $40 a month
