About Marco's Coal Fired Pizza

From Marco's ......

"At Marco's, our burning desire to bring Denver an incomparable Napolitano pizza is fueled by an obsession with authenticity. San Marzano tomatoes and artisanal cheeses imported from the Italian countryside. Antico Molino Caputo flour from a third-generation family mill. A proprietary water blend that recreates the signature New York City bite. Fired together at 1000º for just 90 seconds to create an exceptionally light, tender and fragrant crust."

Average pizza, no taste

I'd really rate this as 2.5. The inside was really nice, modern, yet comfortable feeling. The staff was really nice, and the bathrooms were clean. We each ordered the $9 special where you get your own margarita pizza, salad, and drink, and you could then pick two toppings(I ordered kalamata olives on mine). The salad was very good, but the pizza was lacking flavor. It just didn't taste like anything special. The bottom of my pizza was a little soggy- I thought it would have been crispy because of the coal fire, but it wasn't. It was definitely enough food, but the pizza was just average. They left too much of the crust showing, when they could have put more of the sauce and toppings on it too. I would not go back to Marco's- there's got to be a better place in Lodo especially with all the restaurants in the area.

Great dining experience!

My husband and I were in Denver for a conference this summer. Being used to the Tampa and Orlando chain restaurants, we were looking for something we didn't have back home. I found this restaurant online one afternoon, so we decided to visit it and then take a walk downtown. The imported meats and cheeses on the antipasto platter were amazing. Almost a meal in itself. We both ordered our own pizzas since we couldn't agree on one. These were the best pizzas we've ever had. This is not the pathetic fast-food imitation pizza...it's a gourmet experience. The entire wait staff was courteous and efficient. Loved the atmosphere, and really needed the walk downtown by the time we were finished. The owner's daughter is in college down here in FL, so we are hoping the family might consider opening a restaurant in the Tampa area!

The Absolute Best Pizza in Denver!

We have tried most of the pizza's and have yet to find a flaw! The limoncello rosemary wings are excellent and we order them every time. We have picked up pizzas for takeout - and they can get a bit soggy on the drive home. We recommend enjoying the food there. Get there early, they always have a wait!
