Cost Plus World Market has a very interesting selection of exotic foods. Combiine some of their imported crackers with some exotic teas, throw in a box of British biscuits and some rock candy and some hazelnut coffee -- then grab one of their many wicker baskets. After you take it home and arrange it, voila, you have got yourself a quick and very personalized gift. This is a store with a big range of merchandise. Cost Plus World Market would not be my first choice for a place to buy a sofa, but they do sell them there. They also have all kinds of glassware, placemats, and decorative items. The store that Cost Plus best compares to is Pier One, but I prefer Cost Plus.

They certainly do have some great bargains sometime, but being in Cherry Creek means high prices no matter what you sell. They sell these Amaretti cookies for $4 a bag. My Gelato shop sells the same thing (in Cherry Creek) for $2 a bag, and it's marked up 100%. This means that their store markup is 300% ??? Makes me feel bad for anyone spending large amounts of money there. Shop around before you come here, and try to find a bargain. They may have inported items from 50 countries, but they're not the only ones that carry it. At the begining of the year, Target has their Global Village collection which includes many of the same (and many better) items.

This is the place to go to find the gift for the person you don't know what to buy for! Even if that person is you! ESPECIALLY if that person is you! This place has all sorts of fun things--candles, cards (really fun ones--not the boring drugstore variety) artwork, kitchen stuff, food and wine. They have tons of sample-size food products which are great fro stocking-stuffers at Christmas. Doesn't everyone put a variety of spiced mustards in their spouse's stocking???Their service is second to none. I had one poor guy on a futile hunt for a part to my fondue pot before i finally gave up. He was game to search all over for it, but it just wasn't that important to me! Their staff int he wine shop is also very helpful--I have never been given bad advice by any of them and I always enjoy whatever wine they help me select.Plus the ambiance is just FUN! It will inspire you to go home and spruce up your house or cook a great meal on those beautiful new dishes you just purchased.
