After my old clinic got bought out by the huge corporate chain VCA I began the search for a more "independent family style" vet. I usually base my opinion of how good a clinic is by cleanliness and how much staff turnover they go through. Cap Hill ACC is doing something right! I am very impressed with the veterinary technicians here; On my 1st and 2nd visits Mark had a strong understanding of animal behavior and really gave me some great "holistic" insight and was really helpful with my nutrition questions. Dusty was so kind to one of my cats during a difficult visit and she and Mark are clearly highly skilled trechnicians who showed both of my cats empathy and compassion. Dr Kean was awsome to work with and spoke "WITH" me rather than "AT" me! This is the best, inexpensive clinic in Denver!

Several years ago, my young cat, Elf, became extremely ill and unresponsive. She stopped eating and was not holding down food. Soon, she stopped moving and made no noise. As time went by, she became more and more difficult to wake up. It became evident that she was dying. Elf is a very sweet cat and very loving and I had come to love her very much in the short time she had been living with me. I frantically took her to the vet hospital in Lakewood. They quickly diagnosed an obstruction in her bowel. They recommended immediate surgery and also offered to put her to sleep and save me the trouble. The price tag for surgery was a jaw dropping $4,000! I was very distraught and stunned. I contacted the Capital Hill Animal Care Center where I had taken Elf for routine care. I asked them for their advice and help. When I mentioned the price tag, the clinic was as stunned as me. They told me to bring little Elf straight over and that they would perform surgery that afternoon. Price tag $600-$900. The clinic cleared the schedule to help my little cat. I drove over immediately and Dr. Barnes? clinic saved Elf?s life. After pet insurance, my entire bill came to $300! A gigantic difference from $4,000! It turned out that Elf had chewed a button off a pair of my pants and swallowed it. The button became lodged sideways in her small intestine. Surgery was the only solution. Dr. Barnes and her clinic saved my much loved cat by stepping up when the chips were down and time was running out. Now years later, little Elf is fuzzy, healthy, loving, and my best friend. I saved the button she had swallowed and mounted it in a picture with Elf ? we call it her ?belly button?. It is with profound and deepest gratitude that I say to Dr. Barnes and the Cap Hill Animal Care Center ? Thank you!

I brought my dog Zeke in to be checked out for a serious birth defect. Dr. Barnes and her staff were very helpful in every way. The wait was short, the examination thorough and the explanation of my dog's problem was well explained even though it was quite complicated. I appreciate the way Dr. Barnes explained all of the alteratives to treating him, including the details of what will happen if we choose not do do anything. There was no pressure to select any particular path for our dog. I would recommend Capitol Hill Animal Clinic to anyone looking for courteous, accurate health care for their pet.

I worked at Captol Hill Animal Care Center for a year and a half and the whole time i worked there Dr. Barnes was very passionate about her work. She cared bout the way her patience felt and listened to the clients concerns. I even took my 3 year old cat to see her for vaccines and a check up and she showed the same compassion as she would any one else. I trust Dr. Barnes with my animals. she is not all these horrible things that everyone thats writing these reviews is making her out to be. thats why it disturbs me so much to see that people would lie about a good and caring person. People will always have there own opinion about a service but it also depends on the kind of person that they are and the kind of attitude they have when they come to our services.

These reviews do not reflect the business management or care offered to the patients and clients of Capitol Hill Animal Care Center. This practice has been in business for over 20 years. If all customers were treated with the supposed contempt these reviews explain, such a long history of high quality business performance would not exist. I am surprised and saddened to see such a valuable doctor as Dr. Barnes being subjected to such slander. She has always treated the animals in her care with responsibility. Those writing exaggerated reviews as revenge know their course but every pet owner that chooses Capitol Hill Animal Care Center will know they have made a decision that they will not regret.
