A poseurs paradise, cheesy cheap bar that was OK for the first year it was open with the original staff, but really, the joke grew old long ago. Owners tried to keep a dead local subculture going, because the owners were outdated to start with. Not worth the trouble of attending. One can feel dignity begin to drain while passing through the doorway. A cliche with a tiny parking lot.

I used to hang out at The Cafe for many years.. this came to a halt not long ago. Things have changed, yet some things haven't. Quite often they are out of items on the menu. That has been, and always will be in my eyes, unacceptable. Poor management and poor planning. The service has NEVER been consistent.. it depends on the current hired help. You simply don't go ever go there for service. The drink specials are good. Keep in mind that it is very close to Colfax and you will have an array of individuals from the street spare changing you outside ; they may even accost you while you are sitting in your booth, inside the cafe. If you are okay with that.. by all means. The decor has always been dark and spooky.. I do like that. But.. bottom line..is that what you spend your money on? No. Has the staff ever been rude to my friends and I? No, not at all. It was once a fun place to hang out with my friends, but now..my friends and I would rather spend our time and money elsewhere, frankly.

You walk in to a place where the bar stools are duct-taped the booths are holding together by threads it seems but they'll never fall apart. it feels like your walking into your very first apartment with rundown hand me downs from family and friends. but the service is excellent the drinks are great and the food is great for bar style food that is. you can get anything from steak dinners, salads, cheese fries galor, to cheesecake. along with that is a great jukebox full of all your favorites from ministry to prince. on Saturdays they have free pool all day long into the night be careful though they aren't exactly level. what i love most is feeling like your not some freak of nature and getting good service from people not to different in style then you. eveyerone is always welcome in and the have internet connections there too.

this place opened its arms to me. i'm not goth-style or freaky or anything, but this bar and the people there reminded me of places i hang out in richmond and other east coast cities so i felt at home. friendly bartender. a great place to avoid a freak hail storm. good mix of clientele- yes including mohawks and blue hair, but also clean looking dudes, old drunks, dogs, and people just hanging out a a neighborhood cafe. draft beers were a little expensive though- city prices

It's the atmosphere. This is the Goth hangout. Good bar with a wide selection. Food is either excellent or horrible, depending on who's cooking.
