"The Raft" playing at the Bug Theatre is a clever, and well delivered, production about relationships, aging, and the nuances of family life in Denver. Saturday, January 28th, was my first experience at the "Bug" which inhabits the old Navajo Theatre in east Denver. I was delighted with "The Raft" and am now smitten with the "Bug." This small cozy venue is perfect for those who have an interest in the performing arts, as well as those in search of a great show. "The Raft" was entertaining and well rehearsed. Strong performances by the entire cast made the evening fly by. The historic theatre was warm and cozy despite the freezing teperatures outside, although the (original?) seats may be a bit on the small side for patrons with oversized hindquarters.

The Bug is a find! The energy radiated by the performers and crews is contagious. They put on shows that are smart, progressive, and insightful, without taking themselves too seriously. This is the only theatre in town for which I always buy a season subscription. It's that good. I have yet to be disappointed by the Bug.

I've lived in NW Denver for 10 years and have been going to The Bug since it reopenend in 1994 (?). The amount of growth in the organization in the last 3 years has been amazing. Theatre, Music, and last night I saw some facinating films there. Check out Freak Train if you haven't already. I even have enjoyed the Saturday Morning kid's shows that I've seen there.
