New Job in 1 Week

Posted bymaamboneon 1/14/2010

I found Professional (formerly Accounting) Perspectives online and decided to meet with them in my search for a bookkeeper job. After working with several different temp agencies and finding nothing, I was encouraged when PP told me they had a bookkeeper job they were currently trying to find someone for. They sent my resume in for review and I had a job offer by the end of the week! I could not be more please with the quickness, as I was unemployed for several month beforehand. I am making better money than at my last job and have been here for 4 weeks.

Avoid Them DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

Steer clear of these gals. They will promise that they have a lot of great jobs after wasting a couple hours of your time. If they call it will be for a low paying admin job. Do Not Waste Your Time!

There Are Too Many Other Employment Agencies to Put Up With Accounting Office Perspectives

In auto sales, when you trade in a car the salesman will do a "walk around". They look over your car, saying they want to give you full "value". They'll look at imaginary dings and pock marks, giving spots on the car a rub while looking at you with a kind of sick grin. They play on your sense of guilt or inadequacy, waiting for you to confess to accidents that never happened. And then they have you. They have "devalued" your trade in, giving you as little as they can in trade. And you helped them do it. Shannon Ponce at Accounting Perspectives/Office Perspectives in downtown Denver tried to do the same thing with me. With 20 years in the public and private sectors, Shannon tried to tell me my skills weren't worth even $12/hr as an Executive Assistant. According to Payscale and other websites, the wage for Executive Assistants in Denver is almost twice that-- as a starting wage for a basic EA. Shannon was aiming at about $10/hr. The good news is other agencies loved what they saw and offered almost $20/hr. Maybe Shannon was having a bad day. Maybe firm just doesn't have any good listings. All I can say is don't give Accounting Perspectives/Office Perspectives an opportunity to devalue your career experience. Don't let them waste your time. Go elsewhere.
