Great local pet store

Posted byJeffinCongressParkon 5/10/2008

Every time we've been in for dog food or cat food here, we are always greeted by friendly people and any questions we have are intelligently and thoughtfully answered. A few times when an item was out of stock, they made sure we knew exactly what day (always within a week) it would be expected and would meet that promise. Their tracking of purchases and a "free bag of food" program is awesome! Petco and Petsmart have similar programs but their points always expire before I can use them... and nobody at the big boxes is nearly as friendly or informed as the team at A Pet's Paradise. On top of that, they're local... gotta love that.

Most helpful staff with knowledge about their products ingredients and point of origin.

Walk in a Petsmart or Petco and ask the staff where a certain dogfood is made. I did it today and managers at both stores did not have any idea how to answer the question. On some dogfoods there is a 1-800 number and on others there is the location it was canned, but that doesn't mean the ingredients are from the USA. In my research today I even discovered horse meat is imported from Guatemala!? After spending the day trying to find a product I am confident with I ended up at A Pet's Paradise. I probably had a little chip on my shoulder when I walked I the door and assumed they wouldn't know much more than the other stores. Whoops....I'm eating Crow. The Pet's Pardise folks CARE and know their business. I am a service junkie....I love it when I find a shop that knows their product and really wants to help. I didn't feel like I was being pushed into buying or simply put, they didn't over-sell me. It was definately worth the drive. I am not going to feed my dogs any more foreign pet foods. There is no need to now that I've found some experts to guide me through the maze of brands. I stand by a STRONG RECOMMENDATION for A Pet's Paradise.

Help when you need it

A Pets Paradise is one of the friendliest stores I've taken my dog to. The owner had great advice for me on what food and treats to feed my overweight golden, Allie. She's trimmed down to what she should weigh now that she's on the proper diet. Samples of food and treats when Allie goes in to visit make it a must-stop on our walk at least once a week. Great customer service! Thanks for being here when we needed you.

Best customer service in the Capital Hill area!

I took my 3 year old lab in to talk to the owner about allergy problems she was having. She was able to help me select a food that did wonders for the hot spots and rash Hollie had and she's even lost a little weight on the new diet. Their food and treats are all natural and the nutritional advice along with the supplements they have have really helped cut back on the number of visits we've made ot the vet and toxic medication that Hollie was taking for the allergy problems. I would recommend this great place to anyone who cares about giving their pet a better quality of life. I'll never shop anywhere else!
