Vail, Colorado
Whether in-town relaxation or outdoor mountain adventure is your idea of a great vacation, Vail offers both the luxury and challenging terrain to suit your plans. Mountain biking, gondola rides, spa treatments and golfing are just a few of the many attractions in which you can take part. At the end of a gondola ride to the top of the mountain, Adventure Ridge has games and activities perfect for youngsters, as well as being the takeoff point for downhill bikers and scenic nature hikes.
Vail's nightlife takes on a whole new dimension in the summer, when outdoor nighttime activities are a viable possibility. In addition to the normal bars and nightclubs opening up their patios for even more room to party, almost every night hosts some special event in town or up the mountain. Music is everywhere during the summer season. Check out the Hot Summer Nights free concert series or the Vail Jazz Festival that takes place throughout the summer, including on every Sunday and some other special dates.
Many lodging options are available to the Vail visitor, including condominium rentals, home rentals and hotel lodgings. Some of the finest hotels in Vail are located in Vail Village, affording an easy walk to and from the ski lifts. Tivoli Lodge is one such option, garnering top awards for its service, atmosphere and amenities. Vail Cascade Resort & Spa has a variety of temporary stay options available, including hotel rooms, condominiums and private residences, along with amenities including a restaurant, a spa and convenient mountain access.
To avoid difficult mountain travel, flying into the Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE) maybe be a viable option. The airport sits just 35 miles west of Vail along I-70, about a third of the distance that a drive between Denver and the resort town covers.
