The Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center offers a chance to experience the beauty of 1,200 free-flying butterflies in a tropical conservatory. In addition, visitors have an opportunity to touch sea stars, horse shoe crabs and other aquatic life in touch tanks as well as see up close a large array of insects including tarantulas, scorpions and beetles. Children will enjoy the "Shrunk" exhibit where they can interact and climb on giant size insects. The center is located near the Westminster City Park, within walking distance of Legacy Ridge Golf Course.
Open Winter: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Summer: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Adults $7.95; Seniors (62+) $5.95; Children (3-12) $4.95; Children under 3 are free.
On the way to Boulder...why not take a pit stop in Broomfield at The Butterfly Pavilion? This venue combines science education with hands-on fun to teach visitors about invertebrates, science and conservation. Don't forget to hold Rosie the Tarantula.
